![]() ![]() 324 for brunch and was really pleased with the experience. Overall, Waffle Champion offers a delightful breakfast experience, and I can't wait for my next visit. The outdoor seating with heaters and the overall vibe of the restaurant really elevated my experience. ![]() All the dishes were delicious, with the savory waffle sandwich working perfectly with the not overly sweet waffle. This time, I sampled the vanilla iced coffee, bacon/egg/cheese waffle sandwich, and the sweet French toast waffle. I visited again on a Thursday morning around 10am and it was bustling but not too busy. I particularly enjoyed the mix of sweet and savory in my bacon, egg, and cheese liege waffle, and I advise getting there early to secure a parking spot. Waffle Champion is tucked away in a quiet part of town, lending it a unique charm. The indoor and outdoor seating arrangement speaks volumes of the restaurant's versatility, and I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality breakfast spots. ![]() Despite the long line, the wait was worth it. Their French toast waffles, topped with pecans, strawberries and a tasty sauce, were easily the best I've ever had. I must admit, I'm usually not a fan of waffles, but Waffle Champion has made a convert out of me. The chai and maple milkshake we shared was nothing short of delicious! I enjoyed the Migas, sans salsa and corn strips, and my daughter loved her eggs and bacon. Despite arriving late, we were still able to get our food to go, with the friendly staff taking our orders efficiently. I had a fantastic breakfast experience at Waffle Champion in OKC. I haven't found another breakfast spot in OKC that compares to Good Gravy, and I'm already excited to try more of their 43 different gravies! This is definitely a place you won't leave hungry or dissatisfied. Even if they're busy, trust me when I say the wait is worth it. It's clearly a favorite among locals, which is always a promising sign. The decor is a charming mishmash that adds to the welcoming atmosphere. While I wished for a bit more sausage in the gravy, the overall taste was delightful.Īlso noteworthy is the Bacon Lover's Omelette and the fresh fruit - both are mouthwateringly good, making this place a solid ten in my book! The comfort food here is done right, and it's clear that everything is made from scratch. Light and fluffy, these biscuits are superior to any you'd get from a can, and I opted for the cream/sausage gravy which was flavorful. The biscuits and gravy, their signature dish, are a must-try. I've been stunned by the dedication this place has to customer satisfaction time and time again - they even offer to-go drinks! The staff are friendly, quick, and great at giving menu advice. I've been a regular for years and have always been met with stellar service and extraordinary meals. We laughed and said that explains the similarities to the service at Charleston's and he says they call it the 5 second rule and they preach it to the workers.Īll in all it was very good and I see it doing well here.Good Gravy is my absolute favorite spot for breakfast in OKC. He then said he's working with someone local, Hal Smith, maybe we've heard of him. Being an inquisitive OKCTalker I asked if he was working with someone local or just decided to try OKC. Then casually mentioned that he founded Outback steakhouse, sold it off in the early 2000's, then founded longhorn steakhouse. We spoke to one of the owners and he talked about being from Tampa and being in the restaurant business for several decades. That scoop of strawberry butter was a nice touch. The fried chicken was legit and the huge pancakes were great. stayed on the table longer than a few seconds before someone swooped in to get it off our table. They were clearly training but we all noted that it was similar to Charleston's in that nothing like empty sugar packets, straw wrappers, etc. The wife got us invited to their soft opening a few weeks ago so we got to try it with a couple of friends. ![]()
